A little clarity behind the glamour.
Prepared for Lirielle “Rill” Flickerstep from Matt’s Rill lvl 11.pdf, emailed on 30 October 2026 (Sydney). Her sheet describes a fairy, College of Dance Bard 10 / Fighter 1, known on stage as The Prism Waltz. The original PDF and personal email addresses are excluded from this site.
Your repertoire
All 15 listed bard spells are available with slots; four supplied cantrips include three bard cantrips and fairy Druidcraft. One bard cantrip is missing. The sheet labels Fighter 1 as “Echo Knight”; no level-3 echo features have been invented. Fairy magic has separate free uses and may also use slots. Rill has slots only through level 5; flute True Seeing does not grant a level-6 slot.
The repertoire screen follows bard replacement on gaining a Bard level. Favourites are a quick-access list; they never remove a spell from the repertoire.
Rules editions & source checks
The sheet mostly cites the 2024 Player’s Handbook, alongside legacy and custom material. This companion uses its selected spells and custom item notes. Official 2024 spell descriptions verify the level-11 scaling of True Strike (extra 2d6) and Vicious Mockery (3d6), correcting the sheet’s lower-level text. Complete spell descriptions govern target eligibility and exceptions.
The legacy Canaith Mandolin grants seven independent spell uses, each restored at dawn. The sheet specifies Cure Wounds at level 3 and Lightning-only Protection from Energy. Cure Wounds displays the 2024 value (6d8 + 5), with its legacy 2014 alternative (3d8 + 5) flagged for DM agreement. Item spells cannot be upcast using extra uses.
Spell modifiers
Charisma 20 and proficiency +4 give base DC 17 / spell attack +9. Holding the Rhythm Maker’s Drum +2 gives bard spells DC 19 / +11. Its toggle controls only bard spell modifiers. Fairy and existing instrument spells use the base modifiers in this companion; new loot uses its item-specific DC, flagged where unresolved; the drum does not automatically grant its bard-only bonus to them. True Strike is a weapon attack, so it does not use the drum’s spell-attack bonus.
The official College of Dance guide also confirms Tandem Footwork spends one Bardic Inspiration and includes Rill in the initiative bonus, and that the ally moving with Inspiring Movement uses their own reaction. These details are abbreviated on the sheet.
Questions for the DM
- Which fourth bard cantrip should be added? Which Fighting Style and other two weapon masteries are selected? The complete PDF form field contains unselected placeholders.
- Agile Strikes: the class text implies Dexterity and 1d10 + 6; the attack table says Charisma and 1d6 + 5. Neither has been silently selected.
- Moonbreaker’s Echo: confirm damage formula (apparently 11d10), action timing, saving throw, DC and success effect. The app only records expenditure after an explicit confirmation.
- Flickerwing Step: action timing is missing. Bardic Ascension’s “half heal” and exact trigger need clarification.
- Blink and True Seeing are listed once per day; the daily reset boundary is unspecified. Blink’s custom one-hour duration is preserved.
- Flute Performance and EGO save bonuses have ambiguous stacking, recipients and conditions. They remain visible and are resolved at the table.
- Legacy instrument spell edition, material exemptions and attunement/equipment readiness need agreement. The campaign has no attunement limit; still confirm each item’s attunement and equipment readiness.
Approved loot · 31 October 2026
The Crown of the Pale Priest (T16) adds Constitution-save advantage while worn and Blight once per day. The custom crown’s save DC, activation conditions and daily reset time need DM confirmation. Its Blight uses its own daily pool, never bard slots. The summary uses 2024 Blight; confirm any legacy differences.
The Wand of Web (D27) adds Web with concentration and a separate seven-charge capacity. Confirm the wand edition: 2024 DC 13 or 2014 DC 15. Each cast costs one charge. At dawn record the table’s 1d6+1 recharge result; the Dawn button does not refill the wand. Spending its last charge requires a d20 check; on 1 mark it destroyed in Resources.
One Elite Healing Potion (D34) restores 4d10+20 HP. Confirm use timing at the table. Consuming it spends the one new-loot potion permanently; rests do not replenish it. Old supplies are separate. New loot starts at capacity as an explicit assumption; set current counts before play. Ownership does not assume the crown is worn or either item is attuned. No provisional gold entitlement has been added.
The sound of your magic
Cinematic edition 3 replaces the original lightweight synthesized cues with individually arranged, mastered stereo mixes. Recorded flute, harp, bowed strings, orchestral bass drum, timpani, cymbal and anvil provide acoustic detail, combined with original sound design. The mandolin character is a double-course plucked-string arrangement shaped from harp recordings; it is not a recording of a mandolin.
Damage cues have a deliberate anticipation, impact and aftermath: frozen pressure and fractures for Cone of Cold, circling metal for Cloud of Daggers, an internal psychic crack for Vicious Mockery, and a flute-led non-element-specific detonation for Moonbreaker. Healing, illusion, control and movement each use their own musical and spatial treatment. Each entry shows its individual sound direction.
Acoustic recordings are from VSCO 2 Community Edition, Versilian Studios / Sam Gossner, released under CC0. The original arrangements and mixes were created for Rill. There are 62 mixes covering all 61 entries and the alternate mandolin Invisibility cast.
Sound plays after a confirmed cast or use. Preview sound lets you listen without spending anything; passive features have preview signatures. The speaker button mutes immediately. Resources contains volume, audition buttons, and Stop sound. Preferences stay on this device, separate from the resource journal. Opening the app does not autoplay audio. A new cue replaces the previous one, and audio stops when the page is hidden.
Recovery & saved progress
Resources start at full capacity as a visible first-visit assumption. Set actual remaining resources before play. Short Rest restores Bardic Inspiration, Guarded Mind and one Second Wind. Long Rest restores slots and rest-based features, separately from dawn instrument uses and the flute’s daily uses. Each reset shows its exact effects before confirmation. Musician’s ally inspiration is a reminder, not an addition to Rill’s own pool.
Undo restores the last journal change. Casting, favourites, filters, scroll position and the open spell resume in the same browser. No cross-device synchronization is provided. This companion records expenditure and concentration; it does not roll attacks, apply HP changes or enforce turn economy.
Illustrated positions are examples, not scale diagrams. Rill’s hero art is an illustrative interpretation of her written appearance: brown hair and eyes, pale skin, stained-glass wings, layered silks, ribbons and bells.
